This course is a part of the 2022 Region Fire Conference. You do not have to be a firefighter to register, but please select either a 1 Day pass (allows for 1 class selection) or a Weekend Pass (allows for 2 class selections), then select the day you wish to complete this course.

The Working Engine is a true 8 hours of Hands on Training focused on maximizing an engine company’s efficiency on the fireground regardless of staffing. By utilizing a mix of classic and modern engine techniques instructors will provide a systematic approach to aggressively accomplish the three most critical tasks on the fire ground, extinguishment, search and ventilation. Topics covered include, fire dynamics, nozzle selection, hose selection, considerations for an aggressive attack line, victim search and removal. The afternoon portion of the class will be performed in the IDLH atmosphere with full PPE and SCBA. All efforts have been made to allow students the most hands-on time possible!

Each fireground is different and unique with the constant, being the working firefighter that has the responsibility of being called upon to mitigate the problems that we are presented with while working a fire scene.
