Want to become a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST)? Great! You can join one of the trainings listed below! We are offering three separate trainings at the MAAC Foundation First Responder Training Campus in Valparaiso, IN. CPST training is a three-day training open to the community. It combines classroom instruction, hands-on work with car seats, and a community safety seat checkup event. The training costs $95 per person. We have a scholarship to help cover the cost of the class if needed. If you’re interested, don’t hesitate to register! Spots are filling up fast. Contact Marissa Adcock, [email protected], or Elisse Trissel, [email protected], for any questions or concerns you may have.

You must be at least 18 years old at the time the course starts. The standardized child passenger safety technician (CPST) certification course is usually 3-4 days long and combines classroom instruction, hands-on work with car seats and vehicles, and a community safety seat checkup. Attendance is required for the entire course.

Important: To pass the course, technician candidates must participate in a community checkup event with families and children. If there is any reason you are unable to meet this requirement, legal or otherwise, do not continue with the registration process. You are ineligible to become a certified passenger safety technician.
