Lt. Teresa Janovitz

Lt. Teresa Janovitz is a Workplace Specialist and is in her third year of teaching the fire science vocational for the Porter County Career Center. Teresa has served the City of Portage for 19 years as a firefighter/paramedic where she currently holds the rank of Lieutenant. Teresa attended Purdue Northwest where she graduated in May of 2011 with her Baccalaureate of Nursing Degree. Since graduating she has worked in the Emergency  Department at Northwest Regional Hospital as a registered nurse.

Lt. Robert Schulte

Lt. Robert Schulte received his AAS degrees from Ivy Tech in Fire Science, Paramedic Science and EMT-P. He has been teaching for 3 years and has been in the fire service for over 35 years. He has been a career firefighter since 2003. Fire Science and Paramedic Science are constantly evolving and firefighters must be dedicated to staying current on new concepts and technology. Lt. Schulte actively pursues continuing education and he is currently an active duty Valparaiso Fire Fighter and serves as their Public Information Officer.
