Full Description
This course is designed to give entry level fire officers with the knowledge and skills to meet the
minimum job performance requirements as outlined in based on NFPA 1021: Standard for Fire
Officer Professional Qualifications. The course identifies the requirements necessary to perform the
duties of a first line supervisor or a supervisor who is in charge of a single fire company or station,
with information and skills required for success. This course introduces the student to the basic
concepts of management and supervision by concentration on such topics as Organizational
Structure, Communication Skills, Human Resource Management, Community and Government
Relations, Administration, Inspections and Investigations, Emergency Service Delivery, along with
Health and Safety.
