Course Description:
This FREE course was developed to aid first responders in understanding
and recognizing how fire can be used as a weapon against people
and/or property. This course should also help first responders and
investigators understand why a person would choose to use fire as a
weapon, as well as creating awareness of the types of information
fire investigators may need from fire and emergency services
personnel.
Prerequisite: It is highly recommended that individuals have
completed (W0770) Fire Investigation: First Responders prior to attending
this course

DATEJune 30, 2026-December 18, 2026Tuesday and Thursday 6p-10p and Saturdays (8a-4p) CLASS DESCRIPTION & INFORMATIONThe District 1 Fire Academy consists of initial firefighter training that will include state certifications in Hazardous Material Awareness/Operations, Firefighter I/II and all state required curriculum to function as a firefighter in the state of Indiana.Participants must have municipal department sponsorship and full gear with SCBA’s.
