CLASS DESCRIPTION & INFORMATION
Rope Operations/Tech is designed to give fire service personnel the basic knowledge and skills to safely perform ropes and rigging for rope rescue as defined by NFPA 1670, Operations and Training for Technical Rescue Incidents, 1999 Edition. This course is to prepare local responders to operate as a local member of a Rope Rescue Operations Team. This course provides those personnel with the basic knowledge and skills needed to perform rescues using rope systems. The class will cover the use of rope, rope equipment, hardware, construction of mechanical advantage systems, belay and safety systems, anchor systems, and patient packaging.
