FRADD is Less Than 2 Months Away!

The MAAC Foundation’s 7th Annual First Responder Appreciation & Demonstration Day (FRADD) is only 49 days away, and this year’s event is shaping up to be our biggest yet!

Already, 54 local, state and federal departments and agencies have committed to participating, with more continuing to join. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the first responders who serve our communities, explore emergency vehicles and specialized equipment, and see firsthand the skills and teamwork required to respond when emergencies happen.

Throughout the day, attendees can expect live demonstrations featuring fire, law enforcement, emergency medical services, K9 teams and other specialized response units. From fire trucks, hoses and tactical gear to rescue equipment, drones and helicopter landings, there will be something exciting to see in every corner of the MAAC campus.

FRADD is designed to be an interactive, family-friendly experience. Children and adults alike can get an up-close look at emergency vehicles, speak directly with first responders and learn more about the many agencies working throughout Northwest Indiana and beyond. Demonstrations and activities will highlight the wide range of training, preparation and technology used to keep our communities safe.

All that excitement is sure to work up an appetite! Six food trucks are currently scheduled to attend, offering a variety of options for guests to enjoy throughout the morning.

More than anything, FRADD is an opportunity to recognize and thank the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, K9 handlers and other public safety professionals who answer the call every day. It also gives the community a chance to see how the MAAC Foundation supports these individuals by providing access to high-quality training facilities and educational opportunities at no cost to their departments.

The 7th Annual First Responder Appreciation & Demonstration Day will take place on Saturday, September 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the MAAC Foundation campus in Valparaiso. Admission is free, and the event is open to the entire community.

Mark your calendars, bring the family and join us for a morning filled with demonstrations, vehicles, food and appreciation for the first responders who work every day to protect our communities. Additional participating agencies, demonstrations and event details will be announced as FRADD approaches!
