Winter 2026 Volunteer Fire Academy Week 12

It’s week 12 of the Volunteer Fire Academy and Carl and his fellow students continued developing one of the most important firefighter skill sets: working confidently in low-visibility, high-stress environments while on oxygen. They also practiced advancing hose lines through windows and up stairways, learning how to move equipment into challenging spaces during active incidents. Recruits worked on removing potential victims with practice dummies through windows and down ladders in the bay. All of this was made possible by the many versatile facilities here at the MAAC campus! Week by week, the academy class continues strengthening the confidence and coordination they will need when out on calls!
