CLASS DESCRIPTION &INFORMATION
This course is based on NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications.

Full Description
The course is designed for the Fire Service Instructor who, in addition to meeting Instructor I
qualifications, wants to develop the knowledge and ability to develop individual lesson plans for a
specific topic including learning objectives, instructional aids, and evaluation instruments; schedule training sessions based on overall training plan of the authority having jurisdiction; and supervise and coordinate the activities of other instructors.

DATEJune 30, 2026-December 18, 2026Tuesday and Thursday 6p-10p and Saturdays (8a-4p) CLASS DESCRIPTION & INFORMATIONThe District 1 Fire Academy consists of initial firefighter training that will include state certifications in Hazardous Material Awareness/Operations, Firefighter I/II and all state required curriculum to function as a firefighter in the state of Indiana.Participants must have municipal department sponsorship and full gear with SCBA’s.
